Facebook has rolled out Timeline world wide yesterday. All in all its a great new change for your profile but you had to use it carefully especially when it comes to sharing something on it or not. One of the best things about Timeline is the way Facebook is using Maps on it. Maps on Timeline now allow you to tag all the photos with their respective locations. You can approach this feature either way. You can open photos in thunbnail view and start adding location to each which won’t take much time as it hardly takes a few seconds to tag a photo with location. The other way is to open a specific location from Maps and start adding photos you were tagged in to that location. You can search for a location if you find it harder to scroll around.
To use this new feature first thing you need to do is to enable Timeline on your profile. You can do it here. After you have enabled it, open your profile and under Update Photo and Activity Log buttons there will be a section where your friends and likes etc will be displayed. On the right corner you will see a drop down with a number. Just expand the drop down and you will see Maps shown there. Alternatively you can use the following combination to form a direct link.

You can add location to any photo in which you are tagged. Facebook is really asking you to help make the overall Timeline experience more better. You can just select a location where you spent some good time with your family, friends etc and than start tagging photos with that location. This will help Facebook to serve you better because in that way Facebook will know all the locations that you have visited in your life.
One of the ways that Facebook can make the experience better for you is to give you adds related to your geographical visits. For time being Facebook uses your current location and locations you have tagged in your status updates and photos to give you adds. By tagging every location you have ever visited in your life Facebook will start to use those locations too as your possible interests. For individuals this can be very helpful and they can simply use Facebook adds to decide about restaurants for a holiday trip. For Facebook by providing its users such a nice feature can help them to get in direct competition with numerous Trip Adviser Websites and applications like Foursquare.
