Microsoft has announced its cloud based sharing service Sky Drive for its music and gaming console XBOX 360 yesterday. The announcement was made on the inside blog of Sky Drive from Microsoft. This removes a major glitch in the echo system of the company and makes sharing of photos and videos easier. What this also means is that you will now be able to view your photos on your big screen TV, if they are stored on Sky Drive. The new integration will also support Kinect which will allow you to control the viewing of content like photos using Gestures and Voice control.
The integration is mainly designed for photo sharing as the default view of Sky Drive on XBOX is photo. But you can use it to Sync any kind of files. Sky Drive can be used for string of any types of files like photos, videos, documents etc and all of them will be available on XBOX 360 within no time so that you can view them on big screen. Of course that will have the rather obvious requirement that you use same Microsoft account for both Sky Drive and XBOX.
A few shining aspects of this can be very useful if you are using Microsoft products. Like if you are using Windows Phone as your mobile handset then pictures you take using your mobile will be instantly available to be viewed using XBOX 360 on your big TV screen. You can use it to share videos as well and also may be to watch movies which are residing on your Sky Drive. The use of Kinect to gesture control will have additional benefits. Also now you can compile your photo playlists which you may want to use to be shown in the background during a family party at home.
XBOX already had cloud storage of its own for its gaming space requirements. That could space will still remain available even after the Sky Drive integration with XBOX.
